Alright, I’m using maya 2016. With the default “Bind Skin” options, I can import it no problem. BUT. When the wheels are rotated, it distorts the entire mesh like it’s all attached. These are the default “bind skin” options:
Then, I started searching for a solution and found this video: Vehicle Modeling/Rigging Tutorial in Maya for Unreal Engine 4 - YouTube And I copied the bind options in the video:
But when I do that, I can’t import the mesh and UE4 gives me a “failed to find any bone hierarchy. Try disabling the “import as a skeletal” option to import as a rigid mesh.”
But it doesn’t work. I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve been searching for a couple hours and am banging my head against the screen. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
