Hanging Person w/ Realtime

Hi, I’m looking to create a scene in which a man hangs from the ceiling and dangles in real time.

When I say “dangle”, I mean sway from side to side.

If anybody can give me some tips on how I would create this scene, please let me know :wink:

I’d like to know which method would be cheaper out of these three methods:

  1. Create mesh and animation in another program and import into UE and just play it.

  2. Create static mesh in another program, import into UE and animate the sway in matinee with key frames.

  3. Create static mesh in another program, import into UE and animate the sway using physics simulation.

Which is more economical in UE?

Is there going to be any interaction with it or is it only a static animation?

If there’s no interactions you can do it by grouping the person with the rope (wire or whatever hes hanging with) and placing the axis point at where the hanging position is. Then you can just animate it within EU.
