Thanks for the reply Joe!
I kinda knew it was impossible, I just…see the BSP/GEO data and the BSP/VMF data and (if UE4 was setup as power-of-two) it would be something akin to a glorified ‘find and replace’ to squirt out a txt file with x,y,z co-ordinates…I guess the problem is that Source doesn’t agree with that romantic sentiment and wants everyone to use Hammer
Off-topic, your YouTube videos talk about the level design process quite accurately, specifically the iteration loop when white-boxing. I was thinking it might be interesting to show people in the industry what the problems are. The problems I am referring to are ‘the things which stop the iteration loop’.
The industry needs a level design equivalent of “MIDI”, yet it doesn’t have it - and even people in the industry tend to start answers to questions with “Well, you could try this and this, and these and then import that into this, and add the things from this, plug it into this, then convert it into this, then parse this into that, so you can get this…and then, you can import it into this, but will need to adjust this, this and of course *these *to get that…but the spacing might off by such and such”.
None of that helps the loop.
