@Cypher2012
You do face challenges, but if you don’t try then you never find anything out even about yourself.
But one area that would personally give me sleepless nights is playing security whack-a-mole .
Even if you’re just a payment intermediary, what if the site is compromised during that process?
What steps are you taking to mitigate against slurping of user info with so many hacking kits about?
How about other payment options…? Many devs despise Paypal. Read past comments to see why…
Regarding the ‘we have Steam (gamer’s Walmart), why would we ever need anything else’ argument?
The rise in free game engines is going to lead to a surge in new games and even more saturation.
This will lead to a demand for more niche game sites tailored to things that are different from Steam.
Skeptical? Read case studies on Bloomberg about how tiny niche stores have hit Amazon’s bottom line!
Being niche and offering quality service by word of mouth is still alive and well, but only if done well…
Thank you for your support and feedback @franktech !
Yep, security is certainly something I need to stay on top of. I’m pulling out steps to make sure the site is as secure as possible. I’ve got a bit of work to do in this regard, but its an ongoing priority.
I’ll certainly look at alternatives to PayPal. PayPal is great for developers as they have very extensive and secure API’s that make accepting and sending payments simple, but also safe. I will shop around though!
I’m hoping if I stay connected with the community, with forums like this, I can continually improve the site and make it the best it very can be.
So…you’re basically say that having another option to distribute games on is a bad thing…
Okay. I get your point…
It’s not that it’s not streamlined more so that this could be a good way to get a game noticed as your wait for said game to be greenlit.
Well, yes, but in an area full of “good” games no all “good” games will get to chance to be considered “good”.
Gamejolt, Indie DB, etc. I assume.
Right…so how does this eliminate a need for another platform?
I can’t see how having more options is a bad thing. If you want to stay stuck in your ways, feel free to do so, but for people who are actually making games that will be released having another distribution option to help get the word around is a great thing.

Thank you for your support @Jason !
I certainly have my work cut out, and it won’t be easy. I will keep evolving and improving the site!
Thankfully, my day job isn’t too demanding!
