Foliage Tool vs Grass Tool: Any performance difference?

Does it make any difference in terms of performance, if I paint my grass via Foliage Tool vs via Grass Tool? Ofc with the same density & grass mesh/material.

I’ve painted my grass using Foliage Tool and now I’m trying to optimize it. For now I’ve cut out my grass mesh in Blender to fit alpha mask very closely - it almost doubled my grass mesh triangle count, but since it has less overdraw now, I’ve gained around ~7 FPS in a dense grass scene. Now I’m looking for some other ways of optimization.
