foliage on displaced surface


I run into an issue that when i paint foliage onto a displaced surface, the foliage does not take the displacement into account.
Is the a setting or a node i forgot in the shader which tells the foliage where the surface is, or is this simply an engine limitation ?

afaik material effects cannot change mesh collision, which is almost certainly how foliage actors are being placed.

Even if it could take displacement into account for foliage, this is just a preview of how every dynamic actor in your world (including characters) will behave on that surface.

what you could do is shift the plants up via the material shader if it is for something like grass…
