[Feature Request] Please rename the references to Demons in the masks to Onis instead

This is something I first noticed in Creative mode, but I suspect it affects all game modes. I noticed some of the masks, specifically the ones that shoot fireballs, use the word “demon” to describe the projectiles fired. I am politely asking you change this to the word “oni” instead. This is important for 2 reasons.

The first reason, is that the concept of a demon is not actually present in Japanese mythology, which is what this chapter of Fortnite is based on. The actual name of the monster is “oni”. Even the Japanese kanji character used in the name of the current chapter of Fortnite is the kanji character for the word “oni”. The word “demon” is not in the Japanese language, nor are the monsters called onis supposed to be demons. They are their own unique type of creature in Japanese mythology, even if they are supposed to be evil and have horns. While the Japanese word “oni” may be often translated to the English word “demon”, this is an incorrect translation, as the concept of “oni” doesn’t actually have an equivalent word in English, as they originated in Japanese mythology. So just using the word “oni” in every place in the game that should have the word “oni”, but that you are currently using the word “demon”, would be more accurate.

The second reason this should be changed is because of where the word “demon” IS from. It’s from the Bible. The Bible says that demons are fallen angels, which are angels who turned against God. I’m not trying to be preachy here, I’m just saying that as a Christian, it offends me that this game (that is currently my favorite game) now has masks that allow me to shoot demon powers. The Fire Oni mask in particular describes the projectile as a “demon mask”. As a Christian, I am HORRIFIED that I could be simulating the use of demonic powers in a video game. Since the mask isn’t even about demons though, the word “demon” here should be changed to “oni”, so that not only is it more accurate (as explained in the previous paragraph), but I can still have a clear conscience when I use that weapon in the game. As a Christian, I feel it would be a literal sin to use this weapon in the game, due to it currently referencing demons.

I have less of a problem with the name of the season being mistranslated as “demon hunters”, as the theme is fighting AGAINST demons (though still not an accurate translation, as onis are not the same things as demons), but when it comes to using this specific mask (or any other part of the game where the text implies you are using demon powers), the word it uses should definitely be oni, so as to avoid implying that the player is simulating using powers that are against God.

And this applies to ALL game modes, not just Creative. I’m just posting here in this Fortnite Creative forum, because there is no forum for Fortnite Battle Royale in general. Any reference to demons, especially if it is used to describe the powers/weapons that the player is using, should be changed to the word “oni” instead. Otherwise you will turn away a HUGE portion of potential players (and even make some current players stop playing). Many people out there are Christians, and like myself will almost certainly be offended by the use of the word “demon” in these contexts. You could potentially actually lose quite a few players, if they have to choose between playing this game and avoiding the sin of simulating the use of demonic powers.

@Ben321 Thank you for your feedback. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can confirm that this has been forwarded to the appropriate team.
