You can adjust the amount of screen real estate that the scroll button makes, using the Mouse settings in the OS.
I use a mouse that allows me to click the scroll wheel button and it uses a ‘virtual’ scrolling method on both axis, that is dynamic. The more I move the mouse on that axis, the faster it scrolls. It is both smooth and controllable.
I can also use it in many OS hosted programmes, including browsers.
never used the Virtual Scroll function in the Launcher, I mostly use the Search window to find what I need.
