I have been trying to get my epic games launcher to work from about noon,until about now; 22:35 GBT. Please help me fix this,

What error do you get?
You can take a short cut to open the engine by finding the UE4Editor.exe under the program files folder, this should bypass the launcher. The better route would be to fix whatever is causing your launcher problems but if you want to get the engine itself up and running the stand alone executable does the trick.
There was not one, the whole app won’t open. I click on it the nothing happens

Navigate to
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.18\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor.exe
Run this file and it should come up, if you don’t see any of the above you didn’t install the whole engine yet. Otherwise If you don’t know how to navigate there I would work on your basic troubleshooting with computers since this program can get technical very fast. Don’t get discouraged, just be aware you need to be at least somewhat tech savvy.
I am having this exact same problem. Downloads/installs fine, try to open it, literally NOTHING happens
