Dweller's mask in ue4

I know A Hat in Time has been made in udk, but is there a way to achieve the same thing as the dweller’s mask in ue4? How would I start doing it?

Still didn’t find anything, but I know you can get with a line trace the information of what physical material the object has. Is there a way to use more than one physical material on the same object with the help of a mask? Or maybe control the collision of the mesh with a mask?
