Drag parts of Skeletal Mesh

Hi there

I’m currently trying to setup a wolf character and am stuck with floating animations. My first attempt was to set the bone angles of some spine bones in the Anim Graph to rotate towards the desired move rotation. That seemed to work at first, but the wolf still floats around the floor while rotating.
My next thought was to just move the front legs and drag the rear legs behind, which would certainly feel more natural. So if the player changes directions, the front legs would go and the rear legs would follow. But I cannot figure out how to do that? If I enable Physics on that part of the mesh, I couldn’t play Animation on it, could I? Or is there a better solution to animate quadruped characters without floating legs?

Thanks in advance
