Disabling sRGB for a Roughness Texture increases the gamma, is this working as intended?

Good day everyone,

I have a Roughness Texture and as I understand I am meant to turn off “sRGB”, but doing so makes the texture go from how it is in the first screenshot, to the second screenshot.

Please can someone explain if this is working as intended or if it isn’t, how to fix it?

Compare it with texture before importing. But, yes, it should looks different with/without sRGB.

We had a similar issue. UE5.4 changed (fixed) how it behaves in the preview. It should still work as earlier it’s only the preview that changed. You can read more about it here: UE5.5 texture encoding/sRGB issue
