Destroy a Charactor only if he exists?


As I wrote in the title I want to destroy a character, but only if he exists. Right now, the script works fine the way I want. But I always get the bug report cause the game tried to destroy an actor that was already dead. Sometimes I need to destroy that character, sometimes I don’t, cause a previous function already destroyed him. So how do I I write a proper script for that case?
