Define Distance

I noticed that the video tutorial for Define Distance using two CPs under Help shows an older version of the software with an Update button to click after entering a distance value by Defined distance, no Update button today. I simply clicked enter, that cell took the value, but the Calculated distance didn’t update. I’ve run Align with the hope this will update into the new Composition. Am I missing something?

hello, the Update button has been moved from Constraints to the Registration part of the ALIGNMENT tab

Hello, and thanks. How I missed that. So, does Update then save the scale to the given Component, or must one align once more? I would think the former.

you can actually use both methods, with slighly different results though:

the Update button changes the scale by rewriting the original component with all its “children” models,

whereas with new alignment you get a new component
