While using the Vehicle template in UE4, which uses PhysX (though I understand it’s going to be removed), I can’t get over the amount of problems the vehicle system has.
I’m dying for a unique vehicle system implemented by Epic, using your new physics system, and please make it more user-friendly.
Some requests along these lines:
- For the torque curve, let me import my own float curve to replace the default standard for the vehicle class
- Make deformation/destruction either part of the template, or provide decent documentation on how to do it
- Make importing new vehicle models and porting them to use the template streamlined so I don’t have to do a lot of work just to get new meshes to work.
I’ve been wanting to make a GTA-esque game for a long time, but I’m so frustrated with the system UE4 uses that I haven’t done it. I’m hoping the new engine will make it more of a possibility.
