Decals are all green?

I just noticed when trying to add a decal to a static mesh that the material I added immediately turns into a generic concrete tile material.
The material’s thumbnail changes too, even though the textures referenced in the material setup remain the same. I tried this in Two separate bought asset scenes in 4.13 and 4.12 as well as in a newly created First Person project). The bought asset scenes (Subway station) had its pre-placed decals broken upon load and replaced with the same green tiles as seen in this linked picture.
Anyone else having this problem?

Are you saying there is a problem with decals in general or in the asset packs you have purchased?

It seems to have been in the Subway station asset pack, all the decals use DBUFFERING and it’s not enabled by default (maybe it was before, I haven’t had this issue before, or perhaps the pack changed). This caused the decals to be replaced with the default greenish one.

Thanks for the run down about decals Daniel, Unreal decals fortunately don’t require water to transfer though
