Creating reference to game mode blueprint in UMG widget blueprint causes editor to crash on next launch

This happens in 4.9.1.

I added these nodes to an UMG blueprint and PIE runs OK at first, but after I restart the editor it just crashes at startup. It starts normally again after I remove the UMG blueprint or replace it with a similar blueprint that has no references to gamemode.
