Creating different materials on the same terrain

I personally have the following question: I generated my terrain in the word machine, which I separated by continents and did a splatmap of this terrain it will have 30km² I will use level streaming in unreal but I would like to know if there is any way to make different materials for each continent of this terrain Example ice, fire, wildlife etc. I wonder if this is possible and if there are referral links that I can study

The idea is that something looks like this

The easiest way I can think of is to use the layer paining in a ‘nested’ way.
IE: you have your ‘ice,fire,snow’ parts of the material fed through a landscape layer blend node in the material. This will allow you to paint the different material types on to the landscape. Then, after that layer paint node, you have another layer paint node that is used like normal to paint ‘grass,rock,sand’ etc…
