Crashing When I try to Re-Open Project (Blueprint w/ Custom Class & Animation Blueprint)

We have a sandbox project with some assets I migrated from the RTS demo project. We have a modified version of TopDownCharacter that our Blueprint (myDwarf) is using as a Custom Class.

I have tried adding some test nodes to the Animation Blueprint’s Event Graph (Dwarf_Anim_BP), in the style of the tutorial on using Anim Montage’s to cycle between punching animations while a button is being held down.

After a couple days of hair-pulling and many attempts of slowly rebuilding my assets in the editor, this error seems to start occurring once I try to casting to myDwarf. When this node is removed the crash/error goes away.

Strangely, this is the exact call stack error I was getting in a completely separate test project when trying to copy+paste one state machine inside of another:

Thank you for your report. We were not able to investigate this on the engine version you reported, but there have been many version changes to UE4 since this question was first posted. With a new version of the Engine comes new fixes and it is possible that this issue has changed or may no longer occur.
