Communicating with outside applications through blueprints

I don’t think you can do this with Blueprint only. Adding C++ isn’t that difficult.

I simply need to communicate to an application if a character is stopped or moving. I’d preferably like to write the state of the character to a text document, but it looks like blueprints can’t do that. Are there any other ways of communicating with other programs using blueprints? I’m flexible enough to have blueprints simulate a key-press as a way of communicating.
