Common Concepts: Using Ambient Sound to Enhance Immersion

My Common Concepts tutorials aren’t meant to be super-exhaustive, but to provide a core of knowledge for a given topic that gets new developers on their way. In this one, I try to help them to understand how to use ambient sound in their games, including non-positional and positional sound with attenuation. So if you’re old hat, or even at an intermediate stage, this tutorial isn’t likely for you, but I thought I’d share it anyway.
