Character lays on ground due to animation problem

I am new to unreal engine. I finished a udemy C++ course by Ben Tristem.

I made a character in makehuman. Configured it as an fbx with a rig and programmed some movement code into it. So now the character can move left and right.


I downloaded some animations off of mixamo and added them to my character. When I do this, my character ends up flat on the ground.


My character is upright without animation. However for some reason, the character ends up on the ground due to animation.

I have tried this problem but can’t come up with a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
