Cascade UI-Facelift

Hey everyone,
over the past few days I really learned to love cascade, as I started looking more and more into visual effects and particle systems. Even though you get used to the UI after some time, there are some major issues there.
First of all, almost nothing has tool-tips. Especially the Curve-Editor was hella confusing at the beginning with all the little colored dots where you didn’t really know what they mean or what they do, and you also couldn’t really figur out how to add new points or determine if you actually edit the right curve at the moment.

It would be really cool, if you could go into a module where a component of it has the option to be a Uniform Curve and hit “New Curve”, where a new window opens, where you can switch between either percent of the Emitter Duration, the Particle Lifetime or fixed time, and then just sketch out a curve like in the UCurveFloat Editor.

Thats just my major critics on the Cascade UI, beside the silly movement in the preview window that just drives you crazy because you can’t find your particles anymore, especially when you have a one-sided material beam. I end up always placing geometry in it, and position it under the particle (which throws an ensure() in VS and crashes for prebuild on 4.11), and save it.

But yeah, I would really be happy if Cascade would get a facelift sometime

Hey, Epic started development of Cascade successor a while ago - Niagara, but development has stopped due to Paragon stuff.
According to trello card they are working on Niagara again since june so we might see new system later this year
