Hi,
After reinstalling Windows on my PC I’ve had the problem Epic Games Launcher won’t launch anymore.
It keeps giving me the error 0xc000007b.
I’ve looked up on the internet everything possible, but absolutely nothing suggested makes it work for me.
I finally tried to point out the problem using Dependancywalker.
After analyzing it, looking at the Log file DW gave me, I discovered this problem:
[ ? ] c:\PROGRAM Error opening file. Impossible to find the specified file (2).
What does that means? I don’t have any PROGRAM folder in my C:\ directory.
Is anyone able to help me to solve it?
Thanks
Try these and see if it works. Do the ones at the top first then move your way down:
Try uninstalling epic games completely (launcher) and then reinstall it.
I dont know if you get pass sign in but if you do try signing out and back in
If none of those work try manually going into file explorer and clears out the files and reinstall
This one might be best chance, go to the search bar on bottom of window and type in,delete temporary files, then navigate through the page and click remove all temp files (self-explanatory how to navigate through age just click on remove temp files)
If you have another hard drive try installing it on that one instead (Suggestion, you should try to have two hard drives that way windows files and ALL of your applications and your entire pc arnt all on one drive)
Try doing a hard drive check to see if there is an internal hard drive problem, if so you may need to do research on possible fixes, bring it into a store to get repaired, or buy a new one (do other applications work that you have downloaded on this drive? Like a game (not google)
If none of those work I would wait for a epic games dev to reply
Try to reinstall the Epic Games Launcher if that don’t work try to install it with “Revo Uninstaller” and installer it again in a different location on you computer.
If you 2 or more hard drivers, try to install it on a different hard drive If that don’t work then you antivirus or firewall may try to block the Epic Games Launcher
Hi, thanks for trying to help me guys!
But unfortunally nothing of that works. I’ve done those things, all of them, many times. And I’ve tried it on 3 different hdd and ssd I have on my pc. I also tried re installing all the viasual c++ versions, the direct x, the game, tried checking the dll files and everything possible suggested on the internet. Nothing works.
And no, I can’t log into epic account, the launcher doesn’t even starts but gives me that error 0xc000007b.
I’m not an informatic expert, but I have a decent knowledge of computers, and this is the first time in my life i can’t find a way for resolving an issue.
I posted the Dependency Walker log part, because that must be the error, “can’t find C:\ PROGRAM”, but I don’t know how to solve it. i don’t have a folder called “PROGRAM” in C:, nor on any of the other 2 disks, and so I’ve tried to create one, then I run again the Dependencies Walker and now it states:
[ ! ] c:\PROGRAM Error opening file. Access denied (5)
I want to add that every other game or program works fine, i have installed also Steam and Origin and everything works fine. It is only with the Epic Games launcher.
I really don’t know anymore what to do, I just found out this problem with C:\ PROGRAM, but I have no clue what to do with it.
