Can't set default for array of StaticMesh

I created a class with an array variable of type StaticMesh. I then compile, add elements to the array variable by clicking the + sign in the Details window of the UE4 editor and try to click on the left arrow button to add a static mesh from my project but nothing happens.

Is there a way to set the default value of an array of StaticMesh objects in a blueprint from static mesh objects in my project? It works fine for a single StaticMesh variable but not for an array. (Yes the array is marked as a public variable).
