Hello, I have a kind of simple question I just don’t find the answer to.
When I place actors in editor, they are placed very close to my camera. Before, I could place them further away.

Try putting them on something, it’s much easier
Uhm… I almost don’t like to ask but how do I do this? I usually find simple answers myself but somehow not to this question.
Hold the mouse button, as you’re dragging the actor into the viewport, until you see it resting on something in the world, then let go.
If there is nothing to put it on, then just drop it anywhere, and reset it’s position to the origin, by clicking the ‘reset’ arrow, next to it’s coordinates in the details panel.
This used to work but I think, I accidentally changed a setting at some point.
I made this video of my problem, the actors seem to be placed around some invisible sphere or canvas in relation to the camera: https://youtu.be/fS7ruYaY9vE
It looks like your landscape doesn’t have any ( or the wrong sort ) collision?
You could also try looking at the viewport in ‘player collision’ mode.
I think it’s probably you accidentally changed some settings.try to look around on preference settings.
see if there’s something related to place actor.I’m not sure if there is one.
But I remember Unity has an option does exactly like yours.
Something weird happened, I don’t think I have changed anything. I opened a new level, there it snapped as usual. Then I returned to my level and it snapped again. “Surface snapping” was on before too.
Good ol’ “have you tried turning it off and on again?”
