Can you fade one material into another based on distance for performance ?


Say you wanted to use parallax occlusion mapping - but only close up then further away use normal mapping, is that possible. If so how ?

Yep, it is possible, but currently, only using custom code node in material editor.

KVogler I can’t use LOD as such as I want to do this within a landscape, so you can’t specify different materials for different LOD’s on a landscape - can you ?

Deathray - so it can’t be done within the material - yet, will epic make this code available for all to use?
