Can my game have levels or areas created on entirely different versions of UDK?

For example:

Can I have one level built on 4.9, and then have another level built on 4.6? Or does the entire game need to be built on a single project and its specific version?

I’m just curious because I would like to have some content in my game from older packages, essentially I’m just afraid that everything I have purchased will be of no use eventually.

… No, it cannot.

I would assume that you can open content from earlier versions in a later version but not vice versa

When you have any files in a project it will want to convert it to the current version. If you have old files you can always try to check and see if they work in the current version you’re using.

So is updating the material on the marketplace up to the ones who put it up for sale? Are they obligated to keep it updated or can they just release it for 1 version and say screw it, if so that doesn’t make me very comfortable with purchasing off the marketplace anymore…

At what point will the item be taken down from the marketplace? It doesnt seem right advertising something that could be completely useless, also, why is it not required to list what versions the pack is available to run on??? This seems like critical information to pass on to potential buyers

I believe that the marketplace items are required to support the latest version, for the most part it shouldn’t be an issue unless it involves Blueprints or something like that that could actually break between versions.

Oh good, so if a pack I purchased is not up to date I should just wait a while?

Thanks again darth

After UE4.10, we should wait up to 10 days; After that if we didn’t get an update we are greenlit to be raging around :stuck_out_tongue:

Teehee, ok, noted!
