[BUG] Line trace against Complex Collision doesn't work

This might possibly be fixed as I was testing in 4.8 but I was building a hovercraft today and got it working fine, then I imported the Blueprint Splines Track project (which uses Complex as Simple collision) and found that the line traces simply go right through the collision.

Here’s my blueprint:

And a video showing the vehicle working on a regular mesh, but not on the complex:


  • Does the track itself have collision?
  • Have you enabled the Collisions option in the TrackGenerator’s details panel?

The track itself is the default mesh that came with the project so yes, it has collision and yes I enabled collisions in the details panel. It works with the Advanced Vehicle but not with my hovercraft. As you can see in the video I linked, the collisions have to be enabled because the craft itself is colliding with the track, but the line traces aren’t receiving an impact from the track.

It also looks like on your line trace node, you do not have Trace Complex enabled. Go ahead and enable that and give it another shot.

That sounded like the answer but enabling trace complex didn’t solve the issue.

I have tested this in 4.10.4, and have not seen the same issue as you. Would you mind testing your project in 4.10 to see if your issue is fixed?
