Bug 17234[Solved]: Exporting UVs no longer have blending, producing unusable UVs for editing

I’ve posted this to the Facebook Page and wanted to follow up here. After the most recent version upgrade the UVs no longer export the same. Too much black and sharp edges produce UVs that are unusable for editing.

Here’s what I posted to Facebook:

Posted earlier about a change in the UV exported after the lastest update. I’m now including the results of the UVs imported into ZBrush showing the effect of the change. Not sure how the upload will go or if I can upload multiple images. Please let me know if there’s a better way for me to get in touch to resolve this issue. The first dog with bandana and the 3rd brown dog show the black artifacts that appear when importing UV and using a higher polycount. The 2nd dog with bandana and shows the initial import into ZBrush at low res. The last 2 are of a different scan, first image shows new UV export, 2nd image shows previous UV export. I was informed that a fix is coming but not sure when.

Hello Brian,

Thank you for reporting this issue. This is a bug on our side and we are working on a fix right now.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

For now, when you export textures you will have to set - Export to a single texture file -  to False . With this setting you should be able to export you texture properly. Or you can export your textures to .png format.

Thank you, Rafa! I spent the whole week trying to figure out a solution to this. Much appreciated!

Hello, This bug seems to still exist and I’m having a problem now where I do only want one texture file and I’m currently getting two if I use the bug workaround. Is there a way to avoid this please?
Thanks

exporting textures to .png format should work. If not try to increase the resolution of the texture.
This bug will be fixed in new RC release.
