Materials (as in what you apply to your meshes) are not created in either Blueprint or Visual Studio (which would be C++). They’re created in the material editor, which is separate from the two. To open it, right click in your content browser and create a new material asset. Then, double-click it. It’s very simple to use, and quite intuitive.
