bloom buffer feedback causing glowing "donut" or "bokeh smear"

When I turn on Bloom in my PPV, i am getting these weird blobs in the air that seem view-dependent (they move when i move the camera) and vanish when i turn off the particles that have an emissive material. These are NOT “Lens Flares” in the classic sense of the feature inside the PPV (which are OFF completely).

I’m using Standard not Convolution and my values in Emissive materials are not crazy high. I just want nice bloomy particles without all these flying blobs! Can anyone help with this?

Most likely you didn’t actually disable it, you just unchecked the box so the engine is just using the default setting. Set the intensity to 0, or change the project setting default to off.

your first suggest (set to 0 even though it was OFF), didnt do anything, but shutting off in the Project Settings did. Thank you!
