Beginner trying to add an object and have it move

Hi there,

I’ve tried to find this information in several different ways, but I’ve been unable to, probably because I’m a complete beginner with Unreal…
It should be extremely simple… but I can’t find out how to do it…

  • I’m trying to add an object to the level and have it move across the level from one side to the other
  • I’d like it to stop if it should bump into something it can’t get around.

Q: What kind of asset should I add to the scene?
Q: What settings do I need to apply to this asset?
Q: What do I do to make it move?
Q: Would this be easier to do in C++? How?

Thanks for any assistance…

Hope all is well,
Michael M.

And you should focus on this one esp.:A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements and Releases - Unreal Engine Forums

It explained a lot to me.

Ps. watch if you pull exactly same nodes as on pictures, unreal content halp is evil and can mess your stuf with suggesting wrong nodes.

I’ve scanned the list of tutorials already and even checked out the one you mention, but only briefly looked it over.
I haven’t actually DONE the tutorial.
I’ll check it out more closely and see if that helps.

Thanks for some direction…

Mike M.

Even packing shelves in your local shop, (or supermarket) requires some guidance from trained shelve packers  , so the idea of having tutorials is for people to learn,
