Beginner question regarding "BatteryCollector" tutorial videos

Hi,

I’m utterly new to Unreal (though very un-new to game development), and have started working my way through the video tutorials. In the “BatteryCollector” tutorial, the author creates a SpawnVolume class with a TimerHandle in it. Nowhere does that handle seem to be initialised, yet it seems to function correctly. That seems alien to C++ as surely that field will have a random value in it at construction time?
