Are render targets good for killcam effects?

Hi all,

I want to have kill cams and event specific on screen displays like in the game XIII.

I am currently using a RT on a widget. But I wonder if this is the right path.

Is there a more preferable way to render an additional view/camera onto player screen? (not split screen, I want it on the screen and size/pos manageable.)
