I have a few projects I’m working on that requires this feature and I see it’s on the road map.
We do have that plan in short term but meanwhile, you can use morphtarget per frame approach. We have prototyped with that, and if your animation is not too long, that solution usually works out fine.
It’s even a huge barrier for shortfilms/cinematics, character animation with facials etc. besides there’s a huge interest for using ue4 as rendering solution. Hope it’s coming soon, but hopefully not late.
