Ai animation for the npc to follow you but from a distance and not always been seen

hi i was wondering how i would be able to make an Ai animation for the npc to follow you but from a distance and not always been seen and make the npc grab hold of you to screem as i have the animations for that but right after screaming would then disappear and then carry on following you until the next event

You can make a BehaviorTree for your AIController that follows your pawn but cuts off at a given distance when too close. You can implement any kind of behavior.
