Adjusting Root Bone in Blender

So I am trying to implement sliding into my project but when I try to slide under an object the character won’t, so I’ve exported it and put in blender (Botch the character and animation have a root bone) and I want to try and adjust the root bone so it can slide under the object but I’m stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

in blender the root bone is the armature object itself.

Ok, so how do I alter whatever bone I need to alter so the character can slide under an object when the animation is played?

You dont? You just keyframe the armature to move around instead of targeting a single bone.
