Adding two textures resulting in faded top-most texture...

So, im currently making some UI icons and I have them separated into icons, and their backgrounds. The issue I am having is that when I add the icon to the background after changing the color of the icon, the icon is somewhat washed out/transparent. This is not a problem when I don’t change the color of the icon (default being black). Also, the darker the color I try and change the Icon to, the more faded/transparent it becomes. Anyone able to take a look at this and tell me what I’m doing wrong?


It’s that “Add” node. All it’s doing is adding the values of the background and the icon. You’ll probably get the result you want if you use a Lerp node and the alpha from the icon texture.
