[4.5.1] Animation Retargeting, Jerk At End of Looping Animations

Dear Everyone and Lina,

Wohoo massive progress has been made in 4.5.1 with Animation Retargeting, thanks Lina!

I am however experiencing an issue that another user reported, which is that looping animations between different skeletons seem to have an extra jerk at the end of the looping animation.

To be clear I’ve only tested the run and walk that come with Epic’s skeleton in the third person template and also as downloads for marketplace compatibility.

Both of these animations are not particularly good and have jerkiness in them already, but in both walk and run this jerkyness gets much exacerbated after retargeting to a different skeleton.

Any ideas how I can resolve this jerkyness? It’s noticeable in the originals (Epic you should really give us better looping animations to test with),

but its much more extreme in the retargeted versions!

we’re going to do this, but it will be available possibly at 4.6. "
