4.13.2 crashes before fully launching

I reinstalled the launcher yesterday to my SSD C drive and copied back over the engine files however when I tried to repair it just fully re-downloaded. I also had to update the engine also to 4.13.2. I had some problems with my VR headset, reinstalled USB drivers and restarted my computer. When I tried to open the engine I got the error code below. The problem exists when I try to open the project.

I am reinstalling 4.14.1 but I dont want the problem to happen again and I dont want to update my project.

I do not use Visual Studio or anything either.

Hi Lemur_Hotel,

Please try the following:

  1. Make sure to make a back up of your Unreal Projects folder
  2. Delete the DerivedDataCache folder from the install directories of any version of UE4 that is experiencing this crash upon launching/
  3. Try to launch UE4.13.2 and UE4.14
  4. If both still crash, delete all version from the Launcher Library
  5. Uninstall the Launcher
  6. Search your computer for any residual files
  7. Open your Control Panel>Install a Program: Locate any Unreal 4 associated programs and right-click to uninstall
  8. Reinstall Launcher (from scratch)
  9. Add UE4.13.2 to the Library
  10. On the UE4.13.2 icon, press the yellow down arrow and select, “Verify”
  11. Launch UE4.13.2 and open your project
  12. Repeat for UE4.14

Sorry for the late reply but this did solve my issue :slight_smile:

Have you tried these steps with the VR Headset and other peripherals unplugged? Please try this and let me know your results -thanks!

Sorry I don’t know t just worked when I deleted that folder.
