I’ve been wondering how to best pull off a 360° skyline view, much like the Samsung 360° tour demo.
I know those images have been shot on a 360° camera out of a helicopter, but a stable image would be fine in my use case.
At first sight I need a good hdri cubemap and slap it onto an inverted sphere with self illumination but this seems clamped at a 512 resolution (cause only intended for ambient cubemapping -> edit : it seems now you can crank up the resolution of the HDR map in the texture settings).
Besides the unwanted blurryness that way I won’t have any parallaxing effects of course.
For that I will probably need “the other way” and rebuild the city with some simple shapes/planes with custom textures.
