Nanyang ADM recreated in UE4 4.10

Hi everyone,

First time post here :slight_smile:

Back in 2009 I modeled the Arts Design and Media center of the Nanyang University in Singapore as part of my graduating project. Back then it took a render farm 20ish minutes per frame.

Now with all the advancements in game engines I wanted to see what’s possible in terms of reflections and so I dusted off my old project. I thought it’d be an easy day or two port but I had underestimated how much of a n00b I was back then and so I had to almost redo everything from scratch…
This project has given me a newfound appreciation for game remakes :smiley:

Anyway, the reflection part ended up being a major pain hahaha
Since SSR as the name implies wont reflect anything that’s off camera and the reflection actors are too low res I ended up having to use a cubemap every 2 panes or so. That resulted in roughly 400 unique cubemaps…
It still runs over 60fps on my old computer so woohoo.

The trees are SpeedTree and some of the foliage is from the kite demo.
