    I've spotted a serious problem with Chameleon - it freezes any game for ~0.5 seconds, every 60s, due to garbage collection. Here is how to reproduce the issue:

    1. Create a new project, for example with Third Person Template
    2. Add Chameleon Post Process Library to this project and place the Chameleon object in scene
    3. Play, after 60s (and every next 60s) game will freeze for ~0.5s.
    4. Remove the Chameleon, and the freezes are gone.

    I've tracked this down via Profiler, after having regular performance hiccups here: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?88674-Regular-hiccups-how-to-hunt-down-the-cause
    Please fix this.

    PS. Your library is really good, keep it up!

    New update has been submitted and waiting for review. It contains new effects, upgrades to existing ones, LOOK color grading package and Unreal Engine 4.10 compatibility.

    Nice, thanks for all the work.
    I'm just wondering this because I haven't had to update any marketplace content for an existing project before, is it safe to overwrite the files via the launcher, even if you already have a Chameleon object in your game?

    i really would like to buy this package. But for me it would only be usefull if i could use all these effects on single objects out of the box, because i am an idiot programwise ;-)
    is there a way you could add this function to the fantastic tool ?

    Thanks AxelRantila! Yes you can update marketplace packages safely unless you modified the backend of the blueprint yourself. Since it will be overwritten by update. But other than that, all modified Chameleon variables will remain as you set before.

    Hi stucki, glad you like. However i couldn't understand exactly what you need/ask? What you mean by "using on single objects"? Please describe it more so i can give my best answer.

    You would need to modify blueprint to use custom depth for masking these object(s) over your scene texture. Not easy, but possible by manual work.

    and theres my problem, i am an idiot in ue4 programming ;-)
    do you think it possible to add such possibilities as an example in your library, so we can alter it for or own objects.
    it would really make this library so much more powerful for me

    Hi BarisT,

    Yes I have. Freezing causing by the material instance creation function "Create Material Instances". I've fixed the problem in my end and it will be a part of next update.

    Blur intensity is controlling by grayscale texture. Can be used to create an effects like tilt shifting.

    For the Screen Drop, can you make it like instead of water, there is blood dripping. Also, can ou make a glass shatter effect? like the camera of the viewport has been cracked or shattered

    For blood effects, i'm working on new effects completely dedicated to this purpose of usage. So stay tuned For your last question; i just teased a new effect as "Screen Bullets" with the video preview (Comment no: #103). Is that what you ask for?

    Currently you can customize the distortion texture, color intensity, distortion intensity, position and size for each individual slot. I'm also working on rotation customization but it's a little bit of tricky at the moment.

    A really wild and crazy idea, Can you make am effect, where a bunch of flies are flying and buzzing in front of the camera, maybe every few seconds some of them even hit the camera. I know it probably doesnt have anything to do with your product effects, just came to my mind today while I was working on a dark, damp, spooky environment

    UE brings Math back into my life or i am not sure.

    I've similar effect in production: Screen Particles. Main problem in this kind of effects is getting camera movement and use it as effect pan and rotate. Couldn't find a stable solution for this yet but that doesn't mean i wouldn't : ) Thanks for the suggestion and please keep your suggestions coming.

    Quick update: The effect below will be a part of upcoming update as a name "Damage". I've changed the name because you can also use this effect for screen bloods etc..

    Hello. I know its NYE and I don't mind waiting a bit to get this sorted. I bought Chameleon, downloaded it and added it to a project. But there's no Blueprint. there are some materials but definitely no blueprint to be found anywhere. So its basically un-usable. Could you please try updating the download link? I really need to get this added to my project.

    Hi,

    I'm sure that package on marketplace has all files needed to operate including the Chameleon's blueprint. I think you are using unsupported version of the engine. Try updating your engine to the latest stable public version (4.10 as i'm writing this) and then try to update Chameleon as well. Let me know if it solves your problem. There's nothing i can do about corrupted marketplace downloads since its Epic's business but as i said earlier it's not the case i think. Thank you and happy new year too!
