    This content has been created as a small free version of the package that is on the UE4 marketplace: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/luos-s-modular-rocks-caves
    The purchasable package will have 450 meshes, and much muuuuch more!

    This free package will work identical to the big package and contains:

    - 1 simplified master material. (Purchasable pack offers more features)

    - 2 new materials. (4096 res, Albedo, Roughness, Normal)

    - Few new Material instances.

    - 1 new Material function.

    - Material for mushrooms + colored material instances.

    - 25 new meshes consisting out of:
    - 6 modular pieces. (I, L, T, X-section, entrance and transition mesh)
    - 19 prop pieces. (2 Columns, 1 Arch, 2 Floors, 2 Mite/tites, 3 Rocks, 9 Mushrooms)

    - 2 maps. (interior and content showcase)

    Additional awesomeness!
    If you purchase the big package on the UE4 marketplace you can drag & drop the content folder of this one into big package and it will auto-update the master material, place the meshes in the right folders and even update the material instances!
    So this could be seen as both a small showcase package as well as FREE DLC for your purchased pack!

    How to paste this free package into the purchasable package:
    1. find the "LuosFreeCaves\Content" folder of this package.
    2. Select and copy it (CTRL + C).
    3. Open the \Unreal Projects\LuosRocksCaves folder. (location may vary on your settings)
    4. Paste the content folder you just copied here. (CTRL + V)
    5. Make sure you DONT OVERWRITE ANYTHING!
    6. ????
    7. Profit! its now working.
    8. The advanced master material from the purchased pack will take over and update the Mat-Instances!
    9. Done!
    10. Still done!

    It was a semi-secret, worked my buttocks off last 7 days to create it.
    And the only reason its 800mb is due to lightmaps from one of the levels and 6 4096/4096 textures.

    Yes, whenever I go out and see a rocky surface I tend to go all "Oooh must make photo!"
    Both the wall and floor texture are a combination of photos though.
    I have done better textures, but imho these look fine.
    Normal map of the floor could use some tweaking, but if you implement this free package into the purchasable one, you can adjust it easily.

    The readme doesn't mention the details of the license. Is it "No Rights Reserved" CC0-like release, completely free to use in any UE4 projects with no strings attached, or do you want attribution, non-commercial use, etc., etc.?

    Basically its do whatever you want with it, use it in non-commercial, commercial, thank me, dont thank me, put it on a zipdrive, send it to the moon and let the yet unfound aliens of Moohn'Rah produce actual caves with it, or keep the zipfile on your hdd and forget about it.

    That said, I would appreciate it if people wouldnt publish this as their own stuff ofcourse.

    Good point actually, ill update the readme in there later.

    I am very glad that every one here seems to enjoy there Rock package. After I had downloaded the free package (4 times), all I get is an empty package with nothing in it except a blank floor, skybox and a player start marker. What do I need to do get get it to work?

    You just need to open the correct level or check the content browser.

    Update!

    I made the package 4.9 ready, as well as reducing the filesize about 200mb without any detail or information loss!
    I also uploaded the file to gumroad, ( https://gumroad.com/l/ZSYd ) its still free but allows people to donate if they want to

    Additional note:
    This package is also now permanently embedded in the version available on the marketplace, so if you purchase/update that one, no need to merge it with this one!

    Hello Luos,

    I donated and downloaded your mini-cave package today. I unzipped to my project folder and all assets show in their appropriate folders, but when I try to load either of the two maps, I get error logs for everything. I am running 4.10.1 Is this package not ready for 4.10.1 yet?

    Since the folders have different names (LuosFreeCaves, LuosFreeRocksCaves), I went into the content folder via explorer and deleted LuosFreeRocksCaves (older version) and then unzipped LuosFreeCaves (4.10) to the content folder. Then I opened Epic Launcher and opened project. Like before all the assets are there. I dragged a couple of the static meshes into a level with no problem, but when I tried to open one of your maps, it didn't work.

    Hello Galadhlinn

    I am a bit confused, there is no "LuosFreeRocksCaves" folder.
    There is a "LuosRocksAndCaves" folder, but that is from the purchasable package which is available on the marketplace.
    The original free cave one's main folder is "LuosFreeCaves" and the free one Nopal and me made is "Luos_Nopal_freeRocks". Both have the "LuosCaves" folder in the content folder.


    I also checked for any differences in 4.9 and 4.10 folder structure.. but there are non, besides the addition of the Nopal package being merged.
    Can you contact me on skype: Luos_83 so I can figure out what is going on?

    Hello Galadhlinn, I checked the content a few times now and have no clue what is going on atm that is causing this.
    It might have something to do with deleting the content instead of overwriting it.
    If its just the map that doesn't load, but the rocks are working fine, just disregard it.
    If the meshes dont load either, something odd is going on.
