That would be correct. It was just announced that the Unreal Engine is going Free.

EDIT: Question about game jam codes, do we get those converted into marketplace cash instead?

Sorry, but we don’t have a conversion option for those right now, but I’ll run the idea up the ladder and see what can be done. We did include a $30 marketplace gift for all subscribers for right now however.

Nope! There’s no need for UE5 when UE4 is super-powerful! Just because it’s free now, Doesn’t mean anything is getting trimmed or cut-out. You’re still getting the constant updates, full source and all that good stuff!

The reason it went free isn’t because it’s coming to the end of the lifecycle (It’s only just begun!) but because they want to enpower the future of game development!

EPIC!!! YOU EVIL GENIUSES!!! Sorry for caps but I just saw the news and my face pretty much exploded. I mean, Epic doesn’t even convey how awesome you guys are. Almost hit my head on the ceiling when I saw the news. May I ask why the sudden swap though? Aren’t you guys losing money like that?
