Help.....lighting or AO issue with lightmaps.

Hi all,

I’m new to Unreal. I’m using it in the reconstruction of an ancient Egyptian temple. I’m having some problems with the floor blocks. When unreal builds the light maps, the blocks in the shadows become very irregularly shaded. I’m not sure if this is lighting or AO. This is particularly noticeable when you go into the interior of the temple. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Check to see if you have overlapping UVs in your lightmap. It might also have a warning in your output log.

Also check your lightmap resolution and make sure it’s high enough on the floor.

Thanks for the suggestions. I double checked the UV’s and they looked ok. Then I turned on the Overridden Light Map Res option and increased it to 1024…it worked. Then I started lowering the value, I can get away with 512:)

Cheers.
