tutorial code crash on bluestacks emulator

Hi,
I am learning the unreal engine and very impressed with what it can do.

I downloaded latest engine (4.14.3) and used the quickstart example (Unreal Engine CPP Quick Start | Unreal Engine 5.2 Documentation), which worked perfectly on my windows machine.

However, when I deploy the build to bluestacks emulator and run, it just shows “please wait” and then just crash.

Is there a place I can see logs in bluestacks?

thanks

Hello daxu,

Open the logcat monitor (located in <YOUR_ANDROID_SDK_LOCATION> ools\monitor.bat), this should do the trick.

<YOUR_ANDROID_SDK_LOCATION> is generally located in Appdata/Local if you use the Google Android SDK (coming from Android Studio for example) or in C:\NVPACK for CodeWorks Android SDK.

Cheers!

You can download nox with 5.1 android in multi-nox and redo this comparison. But you don’t have to, nox even with 5.1 android still stutter the most of time. Give a try to Memu, I was playing smoothly with that emulator, and nice to see if memu can beat Bluestack or not.

Really? I use also that emulator but it makes my computer lag, after I upgrade it on latest version of bluestacks from 3 to bluestacks 4. https://bluestacksguides.com/ it gives me much straggling to use. Is there any way to fix it?

System requirements for BlueStacks 4

  • OS: Microsoft Windows 7 and above.
  • Processor: Intel or AMD Processor.
  • RAM: Your PC must have at least 2GB of RAM. ( Note that having 2GB or more disk space is not a substitute for RAM)
  • HDD: 5GB Free Disk Space.
  • You must be an Administrator on your PC.
  • Up to date graphics drivers from Microsoft or the chipset vendor.
