Nice! I do the same thing currently and testing with a R9 380 and an all-time target of 100FPS. The biggest problem are always the trees … good LODs are a must-have 
yes the trees are a hand full . thats why i am going to be using SpeedTree as to get the best low level tree i need.
this game is been designed to run with low spec systems in mind.
