    Venineth - exploration puzzle-platformer

    Hi everyone!

Venineth is a single-player game focusing on unraveling the mysteries of ancient alien technology somewhere in the universe via exploration, platforming, and puzzle-solving.

I am responsible for the graphics, some blueprints and a part of design. Other team member D. - programming and puzzle desgin, A. - music and sfx.
Our inspirations are games like NightSky, Lifeless Planet, Naissancee, InFlux, Mind: Path to Thalamus and Space Engine (visuals).

We are hoping to release Venineth at the end of this summer.

Here is a short video from intro/prologue:

    And some screenshots:

That's all for now. More updates comming soon.
    Cheers!

That looks amazing! Love the atmosphere. Gets me thinking about the Prometheus movie.
Looking forward and hoping for some deep existential story there! ;P

wow very nice design. love the fast emptiness but still have a interesting horizon.
Any change you like to share a small portion of your one way chamber design? I've been looking for that for a while now.
looking forward to a finished product!

Thanks! Did you mean portal transition? We used this method:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5XAVy6wE-A
Player on start is inside "bottle" mesh with render custom depth, 2d screen capture camera repeats player camera movements, portal is like bottleneck. When player leaves portal, trigger hides "bottle" and spawn one sided mesh "bottle cap" with render custom depth, so that creates illusion of one way chamber.

WOW! You have achieved a great look. I especially like the sand environment, and the interaction between the sphere and the sand. Any comments on how you achieved that effect would be greatly appreciated.

As ambershee said, this is simply spawn decal on hit + decal blend mode = normal.

Unsharpmask postfx from Lightroom: Interior Day Light project by Koola is all secret + some color grading and a tiny bit of scene fringe.

Big thanks again for second Pic of the Day!

    Cheers!

Just wanted to comment on this and say it looks great and reminds me a lot of my own project I'm working on (can check out in signature). The last picture in the orange canyon/cavern is beautiful in terms of lighting, fantastic job!

Yes, we know this project, great classic game! Rolling ball genre is still popular, recently came out great Road To Ballhalla and nice Marble Mountain, but we aim in gameplay to make game more like Spectraball and InFlux (third person perspective, free camera look, exploration)

    New screens:

I just stumbled upon this thread when downloading the new version of Unreal Engine, and I have to say this game looks gorgeous, the sound design is great, and it's very intriguing. I look forward to seeing what the rest of this game has to offer

    Hello!

Congrats on the great work! The environments look really beautiful. I will be checking this out for sure.

I was curious to how you got featured on the launcher page. Where you randomly selected or did you contact someone at unreal?

Hopefully you can answer my question, thanks! Keep up the great work!

I think the first inspiration was amazing Europa Concept by Quick Fingers, but yes, Solus Project too
